Return to Velliangiri Mountain

Return to Velliangiri Mountain

So it was, that I set off on the stony path,
that winds and turns through bamboo groves..
Up and Up, we lifted ourselves, on teetering legs and
the quest for the Lord! The Lord inside and deep outside,
the Lord, the Self-resurrecting form, the Swayambhu-Linga!

Here He sits with his Noble Face, Upturned and gazing at The Sun,
The visage which ennobles the seeker, who chances upon it, beatified in rock!

He was once a fiery soul, spouting jets of red lava, smoke and molten stone,
Now He has frozen in space and established his stillness,
He is Time itself, as suggested by the Universe!

Yet so difficult, Yet so vast, his plumage masses into gigantic rocks.
A forest forms over some parts and micro life sprouts in a million shades
of beautiful green! Yet He meditates without a pause, paying attention,
only to the Sun! Though the wind may caress and lacerate,
the rain may shower and disintegrate, His silence takes a distinct shape.
He is primordial; He is the beginning and He is the End of Form itself.
Satyam Shivam Sundaram!
